Job Title: BMS Functional Safety Subject Matter Expert (FUSA SME)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead functional safety activities for BMS development in accordance with ISO 26262 (ASIL levels A–D).
Define and maintain safety goals, safety requirements, and safety concepts for BMS components and systems
Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessments (HARA), FMEA, FTA, and other safety analyses.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, systems, validation) to ensure safety compliance.
Support safety case development and documentation for internal and external audits.
Interface with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and regulatory bodies on safety-related matters.
Guide verification and validation strategies for safety mechanisms and diagnostics.
Mentor engineering teams on functional safety principles and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in automotive systems, with a focus on BMS and functional safety.
Deep understanding of ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and related standards.
Proven experience in safety analysis techniques (HARA, FMEA, FTA, DFA).
Familiarity with automotive development tools (e.g., DOORS, Medini, PTC Integrity).
strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in Functional Safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer) .
Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434) as they relate to safety.
Hands-on experience with lithium-ion battery systems and embedded software
